Lucknow, June 18: IN wake of the huge rush of students who have to submit their application forms, the Lucknow University on Monday extended the date for submission of under-graduate admission forms till June 23.
“We are witnessing a mad rush of students, who are interested in enrolling themselves in different programmes offered by the varsity,” said LU official spokesperson Dr Manoj Dixit.
Earlier, the date for submission of LU’s under-graduate application forms was June 20. “After the date has been extended, students will now get ample time to submit their forms,” added Dixit.
It may be mentioned that several LU aspirants had approached the varsity administration, demanding extension of the date for submitting their applications. “As we had already assured the students of considering the matter, we acted accordingly,” said a senior LU official.
Meanwhile, LU administration has directed the varsity officials to ensure that students coming to LU for admission do not face any kind of problems. “We have instructed the officials to make sure that students do not face any problems in submitting their forms. For this purpose, we have constituted several teams that are keeping an eye on the submission of the application forms,” said LU proctor Dr A N Singh.
Singh also directed the officials to formulate an efficient strategy to counter ragging on the campus. “As the new academic session is about to begin, LU administration is getting geared up for protecting the new comers. On day one itself, our officials would be providing telephone and mobile numbers to the new comers for filing their complaint related to ragging,” said the Proctor.
