AASU forms cell to curb ragging
Guwahati: The All Assam Students Union (AASU), a student organization of the state has formed an anti-ragging cell to save fresh students from ragging at the beginning of new academic year. The students' body has asked the fresh students of all educational institutions in the state to contact its anti-ragging cell in any incident of ragging.
"Ragging is against the norms of any civilized society, and must be totally eradicated. Inflicting mental and physical torture on newcomers reflects a diseased mind, and cannot be accepted under any circumstances," the AASU said in a statement.
The AASU has directed all its units in different educational institutions to remain guard against ragging. The student's body has also appealed to heads of all educational institutions in the state to take all possible measures to curb the menace.
