Possibly under depression and worried by ragging, Dr. Yogini Kaje, a first year student of Diploma in Gynaecology, attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills and attempted suicide on Tuesday in the hostel of KEM hospital.“After completion of her MD, she chose to do 2 year diploma course in gynaecology from KEM hospital. Hailing from Aurangabad, she stayed in the hostel of the hospital. On Monday evening, she consumed fifteen sleeping pills and was found unconscious in her room (no. 1116) at the hospital hostel. Later, she was admitted in the ICU yesterday, where her condition was stated to be critical. Now, she is out of danger, we are trying to interrogate her, so it would be unfair to comment on the issue nor can we claim it as attempt to suicide,” said Senior Police Inspector Ambadas Gadabe from Bhoiwada police station. The Dean of the hospital Nilima Sirsagar, however avoided phone calls.According to sources, Yogini was under depression due to the work pressure, mental harassment, and ragging from the senior doctors. She had also complained to her father, about this harassment a few days ago
