Concern over High School Hazing
Drink-fuelled initiation ceremonies, so-called hazing, for new arrivals to Stockholm’s high-schools have increased rapidly in recent years, Swedish media report.
Police in the capital are now warning that the intensification of the practice risks ending in student deaths.
The Swedish daily ”Metro” reports that the last three weeks have seen between 70 and 80 youths being admitted to hospital after taking part in hazing rituals.
