Chennai students pledge to curb ragging
Chennai: A college in Chennai has set up an anti ragging committee to help freshers and prevent ragging. Says a third year engineering student, Gayathri, "My seniors made me do things like salute a stump which embarrassed me a lot. So, I don't want the same to happen to our juniors."Personal experience prompted Gayathri, a third year engineering student, to join the Anti-Ragging Committee in their college. Gayathri and her friends have now taken an oath not to rag their juniors and interact with them in a friendly manner. Says the Vice-Principal of KCG College, Udupa, "The committee will check the interaction between students and see that it is within limits. We will also spread awareness among them."
