Five engineering students suspended for ragging

Thrissur (PTI): Five senior students of a private engineering college in the district were on Wednesday suspended on charges of ragging a new entrant nearly two weeks ago.

A new civil engineering student in his complaint had alleged that he was taken to a toilet and humilated by his seniors on October 18, authorities of the Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, said.

The college council decided to suspend the five students.

A case has also been registered against the accused at the Erumapetty police station near here.
